On your marks, get set, Go!!!

Sprinters will own the night for the Saturday evening match sprints. With five blocks of historic downtown Bozeman cordoned off, riders will have plenty of room to test their pure acceleration and sprint smarts against one another. Don’t have a road bike, but love to sprint? Don’t worry, our “single speed/fixie” category will give you a chance to show your stuff.
Directions to Main Street Sprints

The top three riders in each heat will advance; the remaining riders will be eliminated and receive the same points. The second round will progress in the same fashion, with each category called to the staging area in the line up listed above. The top two or three riders (depending on field size) will advance to the next round. The number of rounds in each field and the order in which
categories are staged will depend on field size.
A caller at the start area will call up racers with a megaphone. Racers should arrange to be on hand and “race ready” from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The start area is located on Main Street on the block west of Rouse, between Rouse and Bozeman Avenue. There will be six “holders” at the start area to hold riders up for each heat. Once one heat goes, the next heat should line up immediately. Heats will start with a whistle blow. Three cameras will record the finish. A “big board” next to the start will display updated brackets as heats progress. Racers are responsible for knowing their heat assignments and getting to the start line with plenty of time. Once racers complete a heat, they should proceed back to the starting area to await the next heat. All riders who are eliminated from a particular heat will receive the same points.
Only riders participating in the Stage Race will be awarded time bonuses from the sprints. Riders not competing in the Stage may compete in the Main Street Sprints, and may win cash prizes. But, time bonuses will go to those riders competing in the Stage in the order in which they finish.
AWARDS WILL TAKE PLACE NEAR THE FINISH AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF
ALL ROUNDS.
